Rolleicord

Sun Feb 22, 2009, 9:45 AM
I got up early this morning, for a sunday. Because I was going to Antwerp for an indoor photography exhibition, where second hand stuff is sold. The early birds always find the best goods.
I like putting my hands on old and very old cameras, I wasn't really planning on spending a lot of money.

But as before, I walked outside with a suprise. I bought a Rolleicord Vb :D
Something I've been thinking of a long time. The guy selling it, asked 125 €, but I managed to lower that amount to 100 €. I just checked eBay and found out that they go on sale for 200-400 euro.

So now I have 6x6 format Rollei, in excellent condition. I had the luck to be standing next to a guy who was willing to take a closer look at the Rolleicord, before I handed over the cash. I'm new to these cameras, so he helped me in deciding to buy. Afterwards he said I did an excellent buy, I think I spotted some jealousy.

So can't wait to put some 120 film in it. The top down mat glass viewfinder is a joy to use. I feel like a child and I feel my endless possibilities became.... even more endless. Once again.

It's this baby: [link]

i'm curious how did you make a homemade lens?
Open up old (broken) lens and use one of the single lens elements, place it in front of normal lens (35-50mm) et voila.

the rest is up to you :)

In tegenstelling tot de dobbelsteenlamp, is dit niet mijn eigen creatie. Deze stond op een beurs in Dusseldorf. Enfin, niet dat dat zo interessant is :)
